Ukraine has lodged a complaint against Russia at the International Court of Justice at the Hague in order to halt the ongoing invasion of Russia against Ukraine.
“Russia must be held accountable for manipulating the notion of genocide to justify aggression,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“We request an urgent decision ordering Russia to cease military activity now and expect trials to start next week,” Zelensky added.
The ICJ does not have the power to criminally charge an individual but it is the world’s top court for resolving legal complaints between states over alleged breaches of international law.
The international community has condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine for violation of international laws.
