BBM handshake issue? Marcos camp denies avoiding handshakes in viral video

Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos’ camp denies that he was avoiding handshakes during a recent campaign activity.

Marcos’ lawyer and spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said in a statement that the late dictator’s son was only protecting his wounded wrist.

“Hindi umiiwas sa handshake si BBM, kundi iniiwas lamang niya ang kanyang kamay na nagkasugat sa braso malapit sa may pulso na tila nagka-impeksyon,” Rodriguez said.

“Ngunit ‘tulad ng isang tunay na lider na naghahatid ng mensahe upang mapagkaisa ang bansa laban sa krisis na dulot ng pandemya ay hindi niya ito pinansin at patuloy siya sa pakikisalamuha sa mga taong nagmamahal sa kanya at sa BBM-Sara UniTeam,” Rodriguez added.

Rodriguez also appealed for their supporters to avoid touching Marcos’ arms for the meantime to avoid infection.

“Hinihingi ng aming kampo ang pang-unawa ng ating mga kababayan at taga-suporta na iwasan na munang pisilin ang kamay at braso ni presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos upang hindi lumala ang impeksiyon at mabilis na maghilom ang sugat nito,” he said.
