A Fujairah Court ordered the deportation of a foreign national for begging and selling honey without a license.
The Arab man, who came to the UAE on a visit visa, was also ordered to pay a fine worth AED3,000.
The Fujairah Court of Appeal upheld the verdict and according to police records, the authorities received a report stating that a man was begging and selling honey at a fish and vegetable market.
When he was arrested, he had three boxes of honey and an unspecified sum of money.
The accused admitted before the court that he was selling honey without obtaining a licence. He denied that he was begging.
Begging is illegal in the UAE. Any donations must be coursed through approved channels only.
