The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that the pilgrimage will be limited to those between 18 to 50 years of age who are fully vaccinated.

Under the new rules, the Umrah and other rituals are limited to those between 18 to 50 years of age and the overseas pilgrims must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The jabs taken have to be recognized by the Saudi Arabia Health Ministry.

Pilgrims must carry their vaccination certificates to secure an electronic entry visa through the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

The pilgrims have also been urged to check their status with authorized travel agents to book their tickets before traveling.

Recently the Saudi ministry launched two applications, “Eatmarna and Tawakkalna,” to get permits from outside the kingdom.

Authorities have also decided to limit the issuance of permits to perform Umrah and prayers in the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque for vaccinated people only. (AW)
