A man has been arrested by authorities for selling fake certificates of no marriage or CENOMAR to make it appear that their clients are single.
In a GMA News report, the suspect was identified as Darwin Rotap. He was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation-Special Task Force.
Rotap told authorities that he sold the fake documents in order to buy food.
Authorities caught Rotap with the marked money and fake document.
The NBI received a tip-off from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) that the suspect offered fake cenomar in exchange of P500.
“‘Yung asawa mo buhay pa pinapalabas na patay na o kaya pinapalabas na hindi ka talaga nag-asawa,”Jeremiah Belgica, ARTA’s director general said in a GMA News report.
“Either way that is falsification of documents,” he added.
