PH airport police arrest American over ‘bomb joke’ at airport 

Philippine airport officials arrested an American national for cracking a joke that his baggage contained a bomb at the Tuguegarao City Airport in Cagayan. 

The man was identified as George Adrien Favarielle, who came from New Jersey, USA. The incident took place last November 3.

Cebu Pacific airlines checked the man’s belongings, but they found no bomb on his luggage.

The American said that he was only joking about the existence of explosives.

The man is now free after posting bail of about P30,000.

The man is facing charges over violation of Anti-Bomb Joke Law, which states that verbal or written communication conveying false information about the presence of bombs or similar devices is punishable upon conviction with imprisonment of up to five (5) years and/or a fine of up to forty thousand pesos (PHP40,000).
