President Rodrigo Duterte has received the credentials of eight ambassadors from different countries including the UAE on Wednesday night.
During the event in Malacañang, Duterte expressed the country’s intention to strengthen ties with them.
The president received the credentials of the ambassadors from Saudi Arabia, Belgium, the United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain and Northern Island, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Italy, Sweden, Israel, and Malta.
Duterte told UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi: “I understand your government is looking at ramping up cooperation in the Philippines in addressing the pandemic. This is a partnership that works.”
Duterte also hoped that the “stronger bond” between the Philippines and the UAE would result in a “deeper partnership in many areas of mutual interest”.
He also thanked UAE for donating COVID-19 supplies and vaccines to the Philippines.
