Cyclone Shaheen has been downgraded now to a tropical storm category.
In a report on Oman News Agency, Shaheen’s surface wind speeds around the epicentre are estimated to be 102 to 116 kilometers per hour.
Torrential rains and gusty wind will continue to affect the northern and southern regions of the Al Batinah governorate.
Electricity has been cut off in the state of Suwaiq as part of their precautionary measure against the cyclone.
In Oman, two people died in a landslide and a child in a flash flood. Meantime in Iran, six people were killed in Chabahar port in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan.
Flights to Oman are currently suspended due to the cyclone.
