Senator Bong Go confirms that he and President Rodrifo Duterte will be heading to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) today, October 2.
The senator however refused to disclose if he and Duterte will file their certificates of candidacy.
So far, only Duterte accepted his nomination for Vice President by the PDP-Laban headed by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.
Go was the party’s standard bearer but he repeatedly denied that he is interested in running for the country’s top post.
“I want to see the continuity of the efforts even though I may not be the one giving the direction. Baka makatulong lang ako,” Duterte said when he accepted his nomination last month.
“Subalit, inuulit ko, hindi po ako interesadong tumakbo sa pagka-Pangulo sa darating na halalan. Nakatutok po ang buong puso at isipan ko sa pagseserbisyo sa aking kapwa at wala po akong hangarin na makipagkumpitensya sa pinakamataas na posisyon sa bansa,” Go said in a video message duting the PDP-Laban national convention.
