Filipino expats in the UAE have noticed that the current running dirham-to-peso exchange rate on Google shows that it touched the Php 16 mark, Php 3 higher than the rates at exchange houses and banks in the country.
The Filipino Times phoned three exchange houses which quoted that the rates remain around the Php 13.49-Php13.54 mark for its sending rate.
Currency exchange site xe.com shows similar rates at Php 13.54.
As of 4:00 pm, Google’s exchange rates currently hover around the Php 15.90-Php 16.64
*Update: As of 7:00 pm, rates have normalized to AED 1 = Php 13.55.
