Residents in Ajman and Abu Dhabi can now go back and forth between the two emirates following the relaunch of services
The Ajman Public Transport Authority announced the reopening of the Ajman-Abu Dhabi line that started last Sunday, September 5.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency – Transport Authority, said that the number of trips on the Abu Dhabi line, with a total of 4 trips per day, is divided into two trips from Ajman to Abu Dhabi and two trips from Abu Dhabi to Ajman back and forth.
The first bus from Ajman will depart from the Al Musalla Station at 7:00 and the second and last daily bus will leave by 6:00 pm.
Meanwhile, trips from Abu Dhabi headed back to Ajman will be by 10:00 am, and the second and final trip for the day will be by 9:00 pm.
Tickets cost AED 35 one-way.
APTA, in a Twitter announcement, stated that the agency based the decision on the recent updates of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority. The bus services between the two emirates had been closed since April 2020.
It also added that all buses are thoroughly sterilized and cleaned after every trip.
Passengers are required to present a negative PCR or DPI test prior to boarding. Test results must fall within the time frame as indicated by NCEMA.
As of posting time, vaccinated residents will have the ‘E’ icon or ‘star’ icon for volunteers for seven days in the Al Hosn app.
