A Filipina nurse sustained injuries in New York after being assaulted while distributing face masks.
Nurse Potri Ranka Manis said she was distributing face masks to subway commuters when a couple, who she tried giving face masks to, attacked her, reported GMA News.
The couple physically assaulted Manis and screamed racial slurs at her, telling her to return to China, thinking that she is a Chinese national. The couple also took Manis’ cell phone.
Manis sustained bruises due to the attack.
The New York Police District is now looking for the couple.
