Vice President Leni Robredo revealed that she was also in talks with the camp of Senator Manny Pacquiao ahead of the 2022 elections.
Robredo said in an interview on CNN Philippines that the talks with the boxing champ is all ‘exploratory’.
“Pinaguusapan pa lang namin yung mga pakiramdam namin about the elections at ano ba ‘yung stand namin about this. Mga ganoon lang naman ‘yung tinatanong ko, wala pang pinaguusapan kung sino susuportahan,” Robredo said.
Robredo said she had spoken with Pacquiao twice before he left for the United States for an upcoming boxing match.
Pacquaio was rumored to gear for the presidency, but has been under controversy over his dispute with President Rodrigo Duterte.
Robredo said that she “exerted every effort to reach out to almost everyone already”.
She did not disclose the other parties she spoke with.
