Major retailer Lulu Group is working on plans to offer free PCR tests on its malls across the UAE Capital.
The company has 12 malls in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
It comes after Abu Dhabi launched the ‘Green Pass’ system in the Capital that requires the public to take COVID-19 tests or vaccination to enter establishments, according to a report of the National.
To ease burden for its costumers, V Nandakumar, communications director at Lulu, said they will offer free PCR tests available via appointment only.
He noted the free testing will be conducted weekly in select malls.
Appointments can be booked through Lulu mobile application and other social media platforms of Lulu.
Nandakumar explained the validity of the green pass is 30 days for fully vaccinated residents.
“We are working out the procedures to be followed. We are coordinating with the local authorities,” he said.
He added that Lulu Group is planning to tie up with a healthcare provider to facilitate the free test in its mall premises.
