‘Eat Bulaga’ host Ruby Rodriguez finally set the record straight on why she decided to leave the Philippines and migrate to the United States.
Ruby said that her son with special needs was the main reason why she and her husband decided to leave the country.
Ruby said that her husband and her children are permanent residents of the United States.
“I’ve been going back and forth and all my siblings are here. With regards to have I relocated, have I migrated, matagal na po kaming nag-migrate, hindi lang ako nagpe-permanent stay,” Ruby said in a media conference with Pep.ph and other media.

Apart from special needs, Ruby’s son also has a very rare autoimmune disease called Henoch–Schönlein. The disease primarily attacks the kidney of a person.
“Usually daw kapag uma-attack ‘yon, one time lang. Kaya lang yung kanya, chronic, kaya rare. Kasi hindi dapat paulit-ulit,” she added.
Ruby said that her doctors advised them to bring her son to the States to get the medical attention he needs/
“Bakit ba tayo nagtatrabaho? Bakit pa ako magtatrabaho, para sa mga anak ko, lalo na para kay AJ,” she said.
Ruby also clarified issues that she’s an appointed personnel at the Philippine Consulate in the United States.

The former TV host said that she applied for the job and underwent a screening process.
It’s still not definite yet if Ruby would stay in the United States for good.
She also said that her Eat Bulaga family was aware of her decision to go to the United States. (TDT)
