Ajman Police confiscate AED30 million-worth of counterfeit luxury items

A total of 120,000 of counterfeit luxury items estimated to have a street value of AED39 million was seized in Ajman.

Ajman Police carried out several raids to confiscate fake luxury items such as leather products, clothes, accessories, watches and sunglasses.

Authorities seized knock-off bags of Louis Vuitton, Prada and other luxury items like Gucci, Boss, Chanel, Dior, Adidas, Rolex and Versace from shops and sellers.

Brigadier-General Khaled Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director General of Police Operations, said the police launched the operation after receiving complaints from international companies about shops selling counterfeit items in the emirate.

Al Nuaimi added that the force has taken legal measures were taken against the owners of the stores.

According to Federal Law No. (19) of 2016 on Combating Commercial Fraud, counterfeiting will earn violators a fine of AED250,000 and a prison term of up to two years.
