Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Benhur Abalos on Wednesday suggested the creation of an express lane for A1 to A3 priority groups as the government opens the vaccine rollout to essential workers who belong to the A4.
“There is one thing we could do. What we could do is to have an express lane, para ‘yung mga naiiwan, let’s say you are a senior citizen, a person with comorbidity, meron kang express lane and then you open now the A4,” Abalos said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Abalos echoed the statement of his fellow cabinet members that the global supply of vaccines remains the country’s problem in the rollout.
But he pointed out that once the supplies arrive, the problem will shift to the utilization of the anti-COVID-19 shots before they expire.
According to Abalos, Metro Manila is capable of administering 120,000 COVID-19 jabs daily.

He also expressed confidence that the government will achieve herd immunity in Metro Manila and nearby provinces by November.
“That is why the target in the Metro is in November. If everyone is united, this is achievable,” he said.
Data from the National Task Force against COVID-19 showed that the country has administered 4.3 million doses of CoVid-19 vaccines with 986,929 individuals fully vaccinated against the virus. (RA)
