The Philippine Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Isidro Lapeña has directed all regional, provincial and district directors and school administrators of areas falling under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to initiate steps to resume face-to-face training and assessment of workers on Domestic Work National Certificate (NC) II.
This development has followed President Duterte giving a go-ahead to place Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal provinces under GCQ “with heightened restrictions” from May 15 to May 31 as previously recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

In light of the reclassification of these areas to GCQ, the face-to-face training and assessment in these areas are hereby authorized to resume subject to the relevant provisions, protocols, and arrangements,” Lapeña said in a statement.
In IATF Resolution No. 78 dated October 8, 2020, TESDA was allowed to conduct face-to-face competency assessment for Domestic Work, Caregiving, Housekeeping, and other technical-vocational courses in GCQ areas. (AW)
