Hosting New Year’s Eve parties in UAE to get AED10,000 fine

Abu Dhabi Police reiterated the UAE Government’s call to the public to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to prevent any surge in COVID-19 cases this holiday season.

As per UAE Attorney General’s Resolution No. 38 for 2020, any person caught hosting a gathering whether at home or in public places will get a fine AED 10,000.

The guests will also be slapped with a fine of AED 5,000.

Brigadier Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector, advised the public to always follow the safety protocols when attending any fireworks show or activities with government approval for the New Year’s Eve celebration.

These measures include observing physical distancing and wearing masks at all times
