New Year’s Eve: Burj Khalifa station to temporarily close on December 31

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that the Burj Khalifa station will be temporarily closed on December 31, from 5:00 pm until January 1, 6:00 am.

Adjustments on Dubai Metro timings are part of the Dubai Police’s plans to secure the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Burj Khalifa area, where fireworks and light show will take place by midnight.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, stated that authorities together with the event’s security committee are all ready to ensure that Dubai welcomes 2021 across tourist destinations and other areas while ensuring that all residents and toursts adhere to all precautionary measures.

Other stations of the Dubai Metro will be working straight hours during the New Year weekend.

Operations at the Red Line will begin from Thursday, December 31 at 5:00 am until Saturday, January 2 at 1:00 am.

Meanwhile, the Green Line will begin on Thursday, December 31 at 5:30 am and will be operational until Saturday, January 2 at 1:00 am.

The Dubai Trams will also be operational from Thursday, December 31 at 6:00 am until Saturday, January 2 at 1:00 am.
