Authorities in the UAE remind motorists not to drink and drive through a shocking video that shows the perils of drunk driving.
The video shows one vehicle speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road. The vehicle then barely missed hitting several vehicles along the way before it crashed against another, leading to the death of three individuals.
“Investigations into the collision that took place in Umm Al Quwain at dawn on Sunday indicated that based on the samples taken from the deceased motorist who caused the crash, the motorist was recklessly driving while intoxicated against the direction of traffic,” said the post from the Ministry of Interior.

Official investigations reveal that the motorist was drunk.
“Investigations also revealed that the motorist had alcoholic drinks in the car and was driving at high speed on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road when the tragic accident occurred,” added the Ministry on Instagram post.

The car crash took the lives of two young Emiratis and another expat from Comoros Islands. Drivers of both cars and one passenger was killed during the crash that took place at 1:30 am last Sunday, September 20 along the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road between Exits 113 and 116 towards Ras Al Khaimah.
“The driver of the second car and the passenger next to him – both Emirati youths in their twenties – sustained critical injuries and died on the spot,” explained Col Saeed Obaid bin Aran, director of the traffic and patrols department of the Um Al Quwain Police.
