UAE residents who have been experiencing setbacks on getting approvals from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs are advised to get assistance from their employers to get the permits on their behalf.
Major General Mohammed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, clarified that while all residents can return back to the UAE, those who are experiencing hindrances in securing permits could approach their company to help them get the necessary approval
“All residents of the UAE can return to the country. However, there are some companies that must apply for the return permit on behalf of their sponsored employees,” said Maj. Gen. Al Marri during the first #AskDXBOfficial series launched by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO).

The GDRFA Director-General stated that this step is important so that the employee is also assured that they have guaranteed employment once they return to the UAE.
“We have approved some of such requests already. This is important because residents return with guaranteed employment,” said Maj. Gen. Al Marri.
