For thirteen years, Chino Gaston has been at the frontlines as a journalist covering war and disasters.
The Kapuso journalist however shared that his bout against COVID-19 was something unforgettable and unique.

Gaston first shared in a vlog that he started feeling symptoms of the virus as early as July 17.
“Nakaramdam ako ng konting lagnat, tapos a few days later nawala ang pang amoy at panlasa,” he said.
He was tested on July 22 for the virus in Mandaluyong and was later on diagnosed positive for the virus.

The reporter said that he thought he would not be infected because he was living an active lifestyle.
“May bike naman, active naman, physically fit pa nga. Lagi ako negative sa RTK pero in one flash nahawa ka,” he said.
Gaston stayed in a Marikina quarantine facility. He was very well taken cared of including his daily food rations.
He recovered after three weeks.
“Habang naka quarantine it makes you appreciate things more,” Gaston said.
