After a video of a Peruvian kid eru doing his homework under the street lamp went viral online, a Bahraini philanthropist flew to the country to help earlier this year, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.
Millionaire and chocolatier Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak was moved by the video of Victor Martin Angulo Cordoba, who was shown doing his homework on the street under a lamp post, and flew halfway across the world to meet and help him. Upon arrival, he had Cordoba’s house rebuilt with electricity, enough money to pay for it, and a second storey. The Bahraini also promised to update his school’s infrastructure with new furniture and a new computer center dedicated to the child.
Mubarak also helped Cordoba’s mother start a small business, gave him clothing and cash, and provided his disabled friend with a new wheelchair.
The millionaire assured his return to Peru for the inauguration of the school and his new home.
The video of Cordoba was made public by his city’s security officers, and caught the attention of several people across the globe.
