The city government of Basilan has come up with a creative way to recycle used plastic bottles and develop a tourist spot at the same time.
It has intensified its solid waste management campaign called, “Abante Lamitan, Atras Basura (Forward Lamitan, Reverse Garbage)”.
The recycled plastic bottles have been made into multi-colored tulips.
The 3,000 tulips transformed a vacant lot into colorful garden.
Local tourists compare it to the Keukenhof Gardens of Netherlands with only one hitch, each flower is made of a recycled plastic bottle.
