Do not let your eyes fool you. The picture above was not taken from the Netherlands, rather, it is a new attraction in the Philippines that resembles the beauty of the tulip gardens in the said European country.
Tourists are now flocking to the Layugan Garden in Bucay, Abra to see at least 10,000 tulips of varying colors made of plastic and light up during the night.
The garden, which opened in January this year, is owned by the town’s former mayor Victorino Barona Jr., reported ABS-CBN News.
Roger Bernal, head ng Bucay Tourism Office, said in an interview with ABS-CBN that Barona got the idea of building a garden full of tulips when the latter visited the 10,000 Roses Cafe in Cebu.
Instead of roses, Bernal said that the former mayor decided to go with tulips and even went to Davao to do some research on where to order the flowers.
Jojo Tipon, the officer-in-charge of the garden, said that Layugan Garden serves as a new attraction for tourists in Abra.
The said garden is open everyday from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Entrance fee is at P20 (Dh1.41) during the morning and P30 (Dh2.11) at night.
