After a long day at work, most Filipinos would want a way to release that stress – which is why most of them head out to restaurants to eat and pubs to ease their worries away. But what if you can do both at one place? Wrigley’s Pub at Orchid Vue in Bur Dubai has recently opened their doors to Filipinos and other expats as a place where you can dine, dance, and experience delight to your heart’s content.
Here’s our review of their place:
The Ambiance
While Wrigley’s Pub has been in existence for more than 4 years, it recently got a huge makeover following a management shift – and what was once a hidden gem is now increasingly becoming well-known with the Filipino and expat community in Dubai. “From what we understand, the areas surrounding our hotel here in Karama and Bur Dubai there are lots of Filipinos staying who go out for the weekends to get drinks and all so this is a sports bar where we can entertain people, they can come for a drink. Also we have very recently got a Filipino band which is just one week old, very new – they’ve been playing in different hotels and clubs. We have one female singer and one Canadian singer,” shares Wrigley’s Bar General Manager Subodh Mathur.
The place itself is wide enough to house several groups of friends who want to hang out, and cozy enough so everyone can enjoy with their friends as they eat, laugh, and just hang out.
The Food
We were served with a few of their house specials: their Buffalo Wings, house-styled Fried Chicken, and their special Pancit.
Their house special Fried Chicken packs quite a nice crunch to it with the right amount of salt and spice to each bite. With the right condiments, you can give it a nice flavor to enjoy it even more.
Their Buffalo Wings is a mix of a sweet and spicy tinge as you give it a taste, and with each piece – the flavor seems to enhance and get better as you eat more.
They have quite a unique take on their Pancit filled with a mix of vegetables and other ingredients that would fill you out with its delicious mix of well-cooked, warm noodles coupled with its veggie toppings.
And apart from their house specials, they’re also organizing a weekly Filipino buffet: “We are organizing a Filipino night every Thursday where we have very good promotion, they can eat and drink as much as they want with a Filipino buffet where all variety of food will be there and drinks as well – whichever they want to choose,” shares Mathur.
The Verdict
With unlimited food and drinks every Thursday coupled with amazing daily promotions, the re-imagined, and restructured Wrigley’s Pub sets itself to be a hub for Filipinos to gather, hang out and just have a great time as they escape temporarily from their woes at work. “We have lots of existing promotions for everyone as we hope to bring people in to experience us,” said Mathur.
