A series of videos of an Arab man from Saudi Arabia speaking Filipino went viral on Facebook on March 5, Monday.
Glen Colinares, the video uploader, is taking the order of the Arab customer in their restaurant. The Arab speaks to him in Filipino language which impressed the waiter. “Sir, ang galing galing nyong mag-Tagalog,” he told the Arab.
Aside from speaking Filipino, the Arab man is also fluent in speaking Bicolano.
“An unexpected encounter with a Saudi Arabian man who fluently speaks in Tagalog and even in Bicol dialect. Ibang klase ‘to! It’s an honor po ito para sa ating mga kababayan dito sa gitnang silangan,” he said on Facebook.
Filipino netizens were impressed with the Arab’s skill with accurate in pronunciation of words.
As of this writing, Colinares’ videos have collectively gained more than 212,000 views, 3,000 reactions, and 6,000 shares on Facebook.
