$450M Da Vinci painting soon to unveil in Louvre Abu Dhabi

The Lourve Abu Dhabi is very proud after they have acquired the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci at the Christie New York’s auction house a few months ago.

Da Vinci’s “Salvador Mundi” was sold for a staggering amount of $450 million, making it the world’s most expensive painting.

The buyer of the painting was a “Saudi royal acting as a proxy for Saudi Arabia’s crown prince.”

The said Saudi royal bought the painting on behalf of the museum in Abu Dhabi.

Saif Ghobash, Director of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, recently said that the public will be able to finally see the painting after it is unveiled at the museum “very soon.”

“At the end of the day, what is most important is that it is coming to the Louvre Abu Dhabi,” Ghobash said.

“There is a lot of controversy out there that has nothing to do with the fact that it is going to be displayed at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, God willing, very soon,” he added.

As of the moment, The Louvre Abu Dhabi will be unveiling a new art exhibition that will feature around 150 art pieces from the Louvre in Paris and the Palace of Versailles.

The said exhibit will run from December 21 until April 2018.
