Tom Cruise has once again demonstrated his dedication to thrilling his fans by free-falling from a plane in a thank you message for their support of his latest movie, “Top Gun: Maverick.” The actor filmed the video while on location for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” and can be seen standing beside the open door of the plane before jumping out and free-falling through the sky.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic, in which Cruise reprises his role as Pete Mitchell, also known as Maverick. In the movie, Maverick is tasked with teaching a new batch of student pilots. The movie was released this year and has been a hit with audiences and critics alike.
Cruise is known for his dedication to performing his own stunts and has made a name for himself as one of Hollywood’s most daring actors. From hanging off the side of a plane in “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” to scaling the Burj Khalifa in “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” Cruise is always pushing himself to new heights (literally).
In the thank you message, Cruise expressed his gratitude to fans for their support of “Top Gun: Maverick” and for allowing him to entertain them. “It truly is the honor of a lifetime,” he said. He also wished fans a safe and happy holiday before signing off with a promise to see them at the movies.
This isn’t the first time Cruise has used his “Mission: Impossible” stunts as a way to thank fans. In 2018, he shared a behind-the-scenes video of himself hanging off the side of a helicopter while filming “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.” The video, which was shared on social media, quickly went viral and further solidified Cruise’s reputation as a daredevil actor.
