Pop icon and lead actress of the hit film “Grease” Olivia Newton John has passed away, her husband announced on Monday. Olivia was 73.
The actress rose to stardom when her songs, such as “I Honestly Love You” and “Physical”, topped the music charts in the 1970s and 1980s .
She also starred in the hit movie musical “Grease” alongside John Travolta.
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton John Foundation,” her family said.
The family also said that Olivia died “peacefully at her ranch home surrounded by family and friends.”
Olivia fought different stages of breast cancer that later on spread to her spine.
Travolta also paid tribute to his co-star in the blockbuster film ‘Grease’.
“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,” the actor wrote.
“I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! your Danny, your John,” he said.
