Multi-awarded singer and composer Taylor Swift has received an honorary degree from the New York University on Wednesday, telling graduates that ‘eveything will be alright’.
“Life can be heavy – especially if you try to carry it all at once… all the grudges, all the updates on your ex…. You get to pick what your life has time and room for,” Swift said in her speech.

“I have some good news: It’s totally up to you. I have some terrifying news: It’s totally up to you,” she added.
Swift also praised the graduates for persevering even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Never be ashamed of trying – effortlessness is a myth,” Swift said.
Swift was not able to finish her college degree because she spent her high school years in concert tours.
