Actor Enchong Dee has apologized to Congresswoman Claudine Bautista after his Twitter rant on the lawmaker’s glamorous and luxurious Balesing wedding.
Bautista was one of the lawmakers who voted against the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise and party-list representative of Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights o DUMPER.
Bautista drew flak from celebrities and netizens for being insensitive and not considering the plight of transport workers amid her extravagant wedding.
“The money for commuters and drivers went to her wedding. Let’s not prolong this conversation and don’t say otherwise,” Enchong said in a tweet.
The actor however deleted it.

“I have been reckless in the tweet I posted and I take full responsibility for my lapse in judgment. With deep regret, I would like to apologize to Congresswoman Claudine Bautista, her husband, their families, and the Dumper Partylist,” he added.
The actor said that reacted and tweeted based on impulse.
“I reacted based on impulse without thinking of the consequences nor the harm it may cause. I learned that as dutiful citizens, we must always fact-check our statements to avoid sensationalism and the spread of false news,” he said.
“I will take this opportunity to reflect on the wrong I have done and use this opportunity to better myself in being more discerning of my actions,” Enchong explained.
It’s unclear if Bautista has personally reached out to the actor and explain her side. (TDT)
