Following the social media post of his ex-girlfriend Aika Flores calling out DJ Loonyo for airing a “twisted” version of his life story particularly their past relationship and the death of their son, the camp of the dancer and choreographer released a statement apologizing for how it was depicted on national TV.
The life story of DJ Loonyo or Rhemuel Lunio in real life was featured in an episode of “Magpakailanman” over the weekend.
“First and foremost, DJ Loonyo conducted an interview to share intimate and publicly unknown details about his life for the coverage, with the request to omit or leave out some sensitive parts, particularly pertaining to his son.
“We, as a management and team, signed a contract allowing the program to enhance certain aspects of his life, because it is still, in fact, for a dramatic TV show retelling,” the statement read.
It said that retelling the story of his life on the drama anthology program was “not done with malice or selfish intent” but only to serve as an inspiration.
The choreographer who became popular online during the quarantine period received mixed reaction from netizens after Flores cried foul.
Last July 18, she posted on her Facebook account, “’Di ko na mapigilan di magsalita kasi SOBRA NA. sobrang pagmamalinis at kasinungalingan na ng taong ‘to. ‘Di ko naman na kailangan talaga pabanguhin pangalan ko as his ex-girlfriend pero as the mother of his child sobra na.”
Aika said they met when she was a dancer while the choreographer was still part of a dance group that joined a TV contest.
“After non, simula non pinipilit niya ko sumama sa CDO para makilala family niya kasi gusto daw ako makilala. Usapan namin 2 weeks lang kasi di ko sinabe sa family ko na sa CDO ako pupunta ang paalam ko e sa Baguio magdadance class ako. kaya nung nasa CDO ako di ako nagpopost ng pics kasama si rhems dahil di alam sa fam ko. Nag-stay ako sakanila for 5 [months] na ang usapan e 2 weeks. Usapan namin ako… bili plane ticket ko papunta CDO siya pauwe ko Manila. Since di niya ko binibilhan ng ticket pauwe di ako makahingi sa family ko (dahil di alam nasa CDO ako). Nangutang ako sa friend ko para makabili ng ticket pauwe Manila kasi sobrang hindi na ‘ko okay sa relasyon namin. Sino ba naman di magseselos kapag nahuhuli mo katext pa niya ex niya (yung SPONSOR niya daw, ilang beses)? Hahanapin mo palagi sa umaga magugulat ka nasa CR palaging dala ang laptop. Wala ka naman naririnig na sounds. Babae ako, di ako robot na walang pakiramdam para di magselos at panahon na yun di ko alam na buntis ako. BINUNTIS MO AKO AT ALAM MO YUN.”
Flores also claimed that the choreographer wanted to have their baby aborted. “[T]apos isang araw bigla kang tumawag sakin, tanda mo pa ba?? GUSTO MO IPALAGLAG YUNG BATA. Nagmakaawa ako sa ‘yo sa phone na para sa bata ayusin natin. Sobrang depressed ko non alam mo ba? Na nilunok ko pride ko para sa bata. Nagkasundo tayo ulit. Sumunod ka sa Manila at kinausap natin parents ko. don tayo nag stay samin. MAMA KO naglalaba ng damit mo, di tayo nagseshare sa gastos sa bahay (naintindihan nila kasi wala ka pang work).”
She also claimed that DJ Loonyo only reached out to her when their child was already one year old. “Tumanggi ako OO, dahil sinabe ko sa ‘yo kung gusto mo makita anak mo IKAW ANG PUMUNTA SA KANYA HINDI YUNG ANAK KO ANG PUPUNTA SA ‘YO. Ano ginawa mo? After ng convo natin na yun? Di ba wala na?? Isang attempt isang rejection tapos wala na! Nasan ang SINCERITY mong makita anak mo??”
Although she did not reveal the cause of their son’s passing in 2017, Flores narrated an instance when she allegedly called DJ Loonyo during his son’s deathbed. “2017 nawala ang anak ko madaling araw tinawagan agad kita tulog ka pa non sabi mo bihis ka lang punta kana ospital. NASOBRAHAN KA ATA SA BIHIS KASI NAG BOOTS KA PA E AKALA MO ATA SASAYAW KA?? hello!! Nawala anak mo non di yun raket na kailangan mo pumorma!”
“OO ikaw sumagot ng gastos sa chapel sa mga bayarin tapos naghati tayo sa bayad sa lupa para sa libingan niya. Bat ko sinasabe pa ‘to? Kasi LAKAS MO PO! Pinagmamalaki mo sa CDO na ikaw nga gumastos lahat! Hanggang huli HAMBOG ka! At kung ikaw nga lahat? ano naman?? utang na loob parin ba ng anak ko sayo yun???”
In the end, Flores said. “NANANAHIMIK NA ANAK KO. NANAHIMIK AKO NANG ILANG BESES. KAILAN BA MATATAPOS YANG PAGPAPASIKAT MO?? BIGYAN MO NAMAN NG KATAHIMIKAN ANAK KO DAHIL DI MO NA NGA SIYA BINIGYAN NG TATAY! TIGIL NA RHEMS!”
