A journalist in Spain found himself to be an unlikely subject of news and controversy after a half-naked woman was seen walking past in the background while he was doing a live report on a Youtube channel.
Journalist Alfonso Merlos was invited by his colleague and journalist Javier Negre to be his guest on his Youtube Channel ‘State of Alarm’.
While the two were on a live video call, the woman, said to be wearing only underwear, walked into the frame. The video has since spread like wildfire.
But what has intrigued most netizens? The woman in the video was not Merlos’ current girlfriend, Marta Lopez.
The ‘other’ woman was identified as a Spanish reporter by local media.
The jilted girlfriend of Merlos has already commented on the issue, tagging the alleged affair as “shameful” and “unpleasant”. She also confirmed that she and Merlos have called it quits.
The journalist is still mum about the incident. In an interview, he said: “I’m strong and I’m fine and don’t want to make any declarations.”
Meanwhile, netizens in the Philippines are comparing the incident to what happened to actor Cesar Montano in October 2018. A video greeting of the 56-year-old actor made the rounds on social media when a half-naked woman stepped into the frame.
