'It's Showtime' temporarily bids goodbye to 'Madlang People' due to COVID-19

The hosts of It’s Showtime have addressed their audience and bid their goodbye for a month as the network ensures safety due to COVID-19 threat.

Kapamilya hosts Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, and Arci Munoz said the production team was doing this for the protection of the crew, artists, families, and the general public.

“Madlang pipol, pansamantalang ititigil po muna ng ABS-CBN ang pagtatanghal ng mga live entertainment shows at tapings ng mga teleserye nito simula bukas, March 15 bilang pagsunod sa deklarasayon ng pamahalaan ng community quarantine at pagbabawal ng pagtitipon ng maramihan upang matigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19,” Vice Ganda said.

Muñoz and Perez said ABS-CBN will continue to serve the public by airing shows that show inspiration and hope.

“Habang ito ay ipinapatupad, magpapatuloy po ang ABS-CBN na maglilingkod sa mga manonood sa paghahatid ng mga palabas na magbibigay ng inspirasyon at pag-asa at sigla,” Muñoz said while reading the statement.

Perez, on the other hand, said “Makakaasa po ang publiko na magpapatuloy na ihahatid ng ABS-CBN ang balita at impormasyon sa newscasts, TV, at radyo, pati na rin po sa digital lalo na sa panahon ngayon na may public health crisis ang ating bansa.”

The hosts then thanked their audience for their overwhelming support.
