Padilla says he will cooperate with any investigation over Bato allegations

Senator Robin Padilla said he is prepared to cooperate with any government investigation into allegations that he helped Sen. Ronald dela Rosa leave the Senate compound despite an alleged arrest order from the International Criminal Court.

In an interview, Padilla said it is within the government’s authority to investigate complaints that may be filed against him.

“Karapatan ng gobyerno ‘yan,” Padilla said when asked about a possible obstruction of justice complaint.

The senator said he has not yet received any formal subpoena, invitation, or communication from authorities regarding the matter.

Padilla added that he would comply with any legal process should an investigation proceed.

“Siyempre susunod tayo sa batas. Ako naman ay proven na sumusunod sa batas,” he said.

The allegations stem from claims that Padilla assisted Dela Rosa in leaving the Senate premises amid discussions surrounding a possible arrest linked to proceedings before the International Criminal Court.

Padilla did not comment on the substance of the allegations and said he would wait for any formal case that may be filed before responding further.
