Three OFWs injured in Kuwait airport attack, DMW says

Three overseas Filipino workers were injured during the June 3 attack on Kuwait International Airport, according to the Department of Migrant Workers.

In a press briefing on Sunday, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said no Filipino fatalities were reported in the incident, which has been linked to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Cacdac said all three injured OFWs were employed at the airport.

One worker was hospitalized after suffering minor lung congestion caused by smoke inhalation during the attack. The OFW has since been discharged.

The two other workers were treated as outpatients and did not require hospitalization.

One of them sustained injuries to the scalp and arm that required stitches, according to the DMW.

The agency said it continues to monitor the condition of the affected workers and provide the necessary assistance following the incident.

The attack on Kuwait International Airport occurred amid heightened security concerns and rising tensions across the Middle East.
