The Senate has updated its official website to reflect the latest developments in the chamber’s leadership dispute.
The website now lists Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian as Senate President Pro Tempore following his election to the post earlier this month.
At the same time, the title of Senate President has been removed from the profile of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
Gatchalian is currently serving as acting Senate president after he was elected Senate President Pro Tempore by 12 senators during the June 3 session.
The update comes amid an ongoing leadership dispute in the Senate, with competing blocs continuing to challenge each other’s authority.
Malacañang, the House of Representatives, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines have previously recognized the June 3 Senate session and the leadership changes that resulted from it.
The website update is the latest institutional development reflecting the changes in the Senate’s leadership structure.
