The Corrs are Ireland’s first family of music, a multi-million selling sibling quartet who have conquered the world with their seamless blend of sleek pop rock, rich harmonies, and traditional Celtic influences . Comprised of Andrea Corr on lead vocals, piano and tin whistle, Sharon Corr on violin, piano and vocals, Caroline Corr on drums, piano and vocals, and Jim Corr on guitar, keyboards and vocals, the band has sold over 40 million albums worldwide since their 1995 debut Forgiven Not Forgotten.
Formed in Dundalk, County Louth, The Corrs grew up in a deeply musical household. Their parents, Gerry and Jean, performed semi-professionally as a duo, and all four siblings learned piano from an early age. They were immersed in traditional Irish music sessions in their aunt’s pub, experiences that would later shape their distinctive sound. The band officially formed in 1990 and soon after caught their big break during a trip to New York in 1994, where they met acclaimed producer David Foster, who went on to produce their first single, “Runaway.”
Their 1997 album Talk On Corners became a global phenomenon. Initially a slow burn success, it climbed to number one in the UK in its 35th week on the chart and went on to become one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history. The record featured enduring hits including “Runaway,” “What Can I Do,” and “Dreams.” In 2000, the band achieved their first UK number one single with “Breathless,” taken from the album In Blue, which debuted at number one in 17 countries and achieved platinum status in the United States. Songs such as “Irresistible” and “Radio” further cemented their global superstar status.
Over the course of their extraordinary career, The Corrs have worked with some of the world’s most celebrated producers including Glenn Ballard, Rick Nowels, Mitchell Froom, T Bone Burnett and Robert John “Mutt” Lange. They have performed for Nelson Mandela on four occasions, including at his personal request for his 86th birthday celebration. They also performed at Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee in 2002 and were made honorary Members of the British Empire in recognition of their charitable contributions.
The band’s career has been marked not only by commercial success but also by resilience and deep family bonds. Following the loss of their mother in 1999 and later their father in 2015, the siblings navigated personal grief while continuing to create music that resonated with audiences around the world. After a hiatus to focus on family life, The Corrs returned with the critically acclaimed albums White Light in 2015 and Jupiter Calling in 2017, showcasing some of their most mature and heartfelt songwriting to date.
Most recently, the band returned to the stage with sold out tours across Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK and Ireland, as well as major outdoor shows across Europe, celebrating their iconic catalogue and reconnecting with fans worldwide. Their live performances remain renowned for their emotional depth, tight musicianship and the undeniable chemistry that comes from a lifetime of making music together.
