Miss Grand International Philippines Samantha Lo has ended her reign and stint as one of Binibining Pilipinas beauties for 2019.
The resignation comes a month after her controversial pageant in Venezuela. ABS-CBN News reported that Lo has submitted her resignation to pursue another direction in life.
“She took off her crown, left so she could live. Miss Grand Philippines 2019 officially signing off,” Lo wrote on her Instagram account.
Sources said Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., has accepted her resignation on Wednesday this week.
Lo competed in Venezuela last month, she failed short of winning the crown after entering the top 20 spot. She was late at the competition because she was detained in Paris due to visa issues.
Days after being silent on the issue, she broke the news that was able to arrive in Venezuela and hinted that her local organizer did not do anything to help in her ordeal. BPCI has denied this saying that it was Lo and her family who refused to communicate and coordinate with them.
No decision yet if another candidate will take over Lo’s place in time for next year’s coronation.
