Host-actor Luis Manzano revealed that his mother Vilma Santos once saved his girlfriend Jessy Mendiola from a set that caught fire.
As seen in a Mendiola’s vlog entry posted on her YouTube channel last Thursday, April 4, Manzano narrated the incident involving his mother and girlfriend while they were feasting on various seafood.
Manzano then said that when Mendiola was still young, she and her sister Pam worked together with Santos for a television commercial.
“Nasunog yung set, niligtas sila ni mommy,” he recalled adding that the stove on set might have been the one to cause the fire.
Mendiola then said that she was only three years old when the fire happened and that Santos carried her out of the set to save her.
Santos did not know back then that the child she saved from a fire would grow up to be the girlfriend of her son.
This isn’t the first time Mendiola revealed something special about Santos. She previously thanked her boyfriend’s mother for being so kind to her and never treating her indifferently.
“She will never make you feel you aren’t welcome. She’s always warm, and makes me feel like I’m part of the family when I visit,” Mendiola said of Santos.
