Kapuso actress LJ Reyes made an online announcement that she is pregnant with her second child. Through a YouTube video uploaded on August 27, she did a yes-or-no quiz with her eight-year-old son with former boyfriend Paulo Avelino, Aki.
Some of the things she asked her son were, “Are you ready to be responsible?” and “Do you want a playmate?”, to which Aki answered “yes” to both questions.
Shortly after, Reyes broke the news to her son by saying, “Totoo, mommy’s pregnant!”
Reyes’ current partner and the father of the child, actor Paolo Contis, then stepped in to tell Aki that what his mother just told him is indeed true — he will soon be a big brother.
“She’s not [joking], she’s pregnant,” Contis said.
The gender of Reyes and Contis’ child is not yet revealed but the former said that she is hoping for a daughter.
After the posting of the video, Contis took to his own Instagram account to share his feelings about his girlfriend’s pregnancy.
“YES WE ARE! God has blessed us with the perfect gift and we couldn’t be happier!
“We want to thank our families and friends who are as excited as we are. And to you [LJ Reyes], when we became a couple 3 years ago, I felt so lucky!
“With all the problems I had, all the baggage I carry, you still accepted me and became my partner and strength.
“Yes, we do have our bad days (dahil matigas ang ulo ko) but we always manage to be okay and happy. And now that we are expecting, I promise to be beside you all the way. You will never ever be alone.
Thank you for everything my love! Mahal na mahal kita! We feel so happy and blessed and we just can’t help but share this great news with everyone. Now, let’s celebrate!” Contis wrote on Instagram.
Contis already has two other daughters from his previous marriage.
