Hip-hop artist Abra graced the stage of The Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York for the opening of the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) on Sunday, July 15.
The rapper was there to accept an award and promote the screening of his film. Respeto bagged the Tiger Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film, reported Manila Bulletin
Also included in this year’s NYAFF lineup are Neomanila, BuyBust, On the Job, We Will Not Die Tonight, and Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story).
Respeto was directed by Alberto “Treb” Monteras II; it was an entry to Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival in 2017 where it won a string of awards including Best Feature Length Film, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound.
