With many other celebrity couples out there, fans are asking who will be the next one among them to tie the knot?
Here are some of the celebrity couples who have sparked engagement rumors that got the fans wondering if they will hear wedding bells from them soon.
Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo
Many are asking in the social media grapevine if Dennis Trillo and long-time girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado are getting hitched soon.
Speculations erupted after Trillo posted a photo on his Instagram showing a pair of hands, each wearing matching watches. One hand, which visibly belongs to a woman, was wearing what looks like an engagement ring.
The post quickly elicited excitement among netizens, with many of them already giving their best wishes to the couple.
Mercado and Trillo, also known to their fans as DenJen, have yet to confirm speculations.
In a previous interview with PEP last year, Mercado disclosed that marrying Trillo anytime soon was not one of her priorities because she still has a lot of things she wants to achieve for herself. But the Kapuso actress was quick to say that she is happy with her relationship with the actor.
Mercado and Trillo first became a couple in 2010 but broke up a year after. They got back together in 2015 after working together on the television drama series “My Faithful Husband”.
Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli
Netizens are wondering if Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo are ready to tie the knot.
Many noticed that Guidicelli and Geronimo were extremely sweet with each other during the birthday celebration of Judy Ann Santos a few weeks ago, which led netizens to ask if the former had already popped the question to the Popstar Royalty.
It can also be recalled that the celebrity couple spent the Holy Week in Palawan and photos of their quick getaway have made rounds online.
Ever since they became official, Guidicelli and Geronimo, unlike most showbiz couples, are very tight-lipped when it comes to their relationship.
Due to their sweetness while they are away from the public eye, rumors about Guidicelli proposing to Geronimo while they were on vacation quickly spread.
However, the 28-year-old actor and triathlete was quick to deny the rumors saying that he did not pop the question to his girlfriend.
“Hindi ko pa alam. Ang mga bagay-bagay, nagbabago. Twenty-eight na ako… I don’t know, we’ll see. I thought 28 was the best, but you know, in life, doors open, things change. We will see, life has always new things to offer, so let’s see what’s going to happen,” he said in an interview with PEP.
Guidicelli has also previously revealed that he and Geronimo have already talked about plans to settle down.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Guidicelli teased about the current state of his relationship with Geronimo.
“I guess we have stumbled upon it,” he simply said.
When Abunda tried to get more answers from him, Guidicelli simply said: “I’ll tell you later [when we are no longer on air].”
In a separate interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, Guidicelli reiterated that he has not yet asked Geronimo’s hand in marriage, but teased that he already has a plan.
Felipe asked Guidicelli if he already has a timeline of his future plans, which include marrying Geronimo.
“Meron pero hindi ko sasabihin sa ‘yo,” Guidicelli answered with a laugh.
Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano
After Billy Crawford got married to longtime girlfriend Coleen Garcia, netizens are now asking if it is time for the former’s close friend, Luis Manzano, to tie the knot with his girlfriend Jessy Mendiola.
Luis, 37, previously said that getting married is not on the table for them because Jessy, who is 12 years younger than him, wants to focus on her career.
However, netizens started to speculate if he has already proposed to Jessy during his birthday celebration last April 21.
In an interview with PEP, Jessy clarified that no marriage proposal happened during the party.
“Hindi, hindi pa, pero ngayon lang, we’re waiting for the perfect timing,” she said.
Jessy also said that she is waiting for Luis to propose to her, adding that she is already prepared to tie the knot with Luis if he pops the question.
“Depende lang naman sa kanya yun, e, ako naghihintay lang ako. Ready? I feel that I am naman when that time comes. Pero right now, hangga’t wala pa, e, push, push muna for myself.
“Alam niya yun, naghahanap lang siya ng tamang oras. In fairness naman to him, he’s very sure about it. Yung assurance na ibinibigay niya sa akin, that’s enough for me,” she added.
“Just have to wait for the right time…
“Isa nga ‘yan sa insecurities ko, ready na siya; ako, okay sige, wait lang,” she said.
Jessy also said that regardless of when Luis will ask her to marry him, she is already sure that the TV host is the one for her.
“Siyempre may mga preparations ‘yan, e.
“Siguro kung engagement, year after yung wedding. Parang ganun.
“Pero kahit hindi man ngayon, bukas, or anytime soon, one thing is for sure – I’m sure na siya na,” she said.
Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz
Ever since they took an indefinite hiatus from show business, celebrity couple Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz have remained mum about the controversies involving them.
They have been the subject of pregnancy rumors, a “paparazzi” controversy, and a wedding speculation.
On January 5, showbiz columnist Lolit Solis said on her Instagram post that Cruz spent the holidays in Cebu to plan for his wedding with Adarna which supposedly took place in February.
“May taga Cebu na nagsabi sa akin nag-contact na daw caterer at florist para sa kasal ni John Lloyd Cruz at Ellen Adarna,” Solis wrote in her Instagram post.
The columnist also said that Cruz celebrated Christmas and New Year’s Day in Cebu so that he can meet Adarna’s family and plan for the wedding.
“[Magaganap ang wedding] sa isang beach resort sa Cebu at mangyayari daw ito last week or either early February, kaya pala dun na sa Cebu kapiling pamilya ni Ellen nag-Christmas at New Year si John Lloyd,” she said.
Solis also revealed some names who will be involved in the said “wedding.”
“Among major sponsor daw [sina] Dr. Cuanang ng St Luke’s at dating secretary na si Bert Romulo, tatay ni Roman at Mons,” she said.
Solis was referring to Dr. Joven Cuanang who was the former medical director of St. Luke’s Medical Center and owner of the Boston Art Gallery at Pinto Art Museum; and former foreign affairs Alberto Romulo who is the father of Cruz’s close friend, Erwin Romulo.
Solis also extended her best wishes for Cruz and Adarna.
Since then, many celebrities have reacted on behalf of the couple and debunked Solis’ speculations.
Whether they are getting married soon or not, many fans still miss Cruz and Adarna and hope that they will clarify everything that has been going on between them.
