Derek Ramsay said that this year’s Christmas was extra special for him because he was able to spend it with his son, Austin.
In fact, the Filipino-British actor brought his son with him during the Metro Manila Film Festival Float Parade last Saturday, December 23.
“It is a really good Christmas for me. I am back here in the MMFF and I have my son here to witness it. He’s here with me for the parade today so I can’t ask for much more than this,” he told ABS-CBN.
It was back in 2015 when Ramsay confirmed that he has a son with estranged wife Mary Christine Jolly who hasn’t seen his son for years.
“I am really happy that he’s here. Timing that I have an entry for the MMFF,” he said.
Austin was brought to Dubai by his mother after her and Ramsay’s separation. They continue to be based in Dubai even after the former couple’s legal feud in 2014.
Regarding his MMFF film, he said that it is his favorite movie to date.
“It’s just really different. It’s so real. It’s the best way to describe it, it’s real. First time ko na I opened up parts of my past to portray my character. I never do that. There was a big difference,” he said.
“All of You” is an official entry for MMFF 2017. In this film directed by Dan Villegas, Ramsay reunited with former co-star, Jennylyn Mercado.
