LOOK: Atom Araullo spotted at GMA7 lobby

Social media erupted when Atom Araullo announced his resignation after 13 years in the ABS-CBN without saying too much, but vague reasons.

Among the speculations that irked netizens was Araullo left ABS-CBN for its rival network, GMA 7.

While Araullo and GMA were yet to verify the rumor, the public was quick to capture an evidence that will strengthen the claim.

Celebrity gossip blogger @fashionpulis reported an Instagram post by social media user Mark Anthony, which showed that Araullo was seen at the GMA lobby.

Meanwhile, Journal.com.ph’s Nitz Miralles said Atom is set to join Kara David, Sandra Aguinaldo, Jay Taruc, and Howie Severino in the network’s I-Witness team.

In an Instagram post on Sept. 15, Araullo said he will leave the ABS-CBN network to embark on “a new path”.

“Working with ABS-CBN for over a decade has been an amazing adventure. However, the time has come to explore emerging opportunities and challenges beyond the organization,” Araullo said.

In August 2016, Atom resigned as a news reporter for TV Patrol and Bandila to pursue other opportunities in media but continued to host morning show Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG) and the current affairs program Red Alert.

Araullo will be making his acting debut, playing the role of a journalist, in the upcoming film by multi-awarded director Mike de Leon, Citizen Jake.
