While actress Liza Soberano has received praises for portraying the role of 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach in the latest episode of Malaala Mo Kaya (MMK), the latter has been bashed by netizens for allegedly lying about his late father.
Entertainment blog Fashion Pulis posted screenshots of Facebook posts from Robie Asingua, wife of Pia’s late father, and Alexander Wurtzbach, her half-brother, criticizing the part of the show where Pia’s father was asking money from the beauty queen.
“What [the] hell are you doing Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, making a false story. Your papa never asked money from you,” Asingua said on her Facebook post.
Robie’s post was echoed by Alexander and called on Pia to not use his father’s surname.
Asingua’s post has gathered 5,600 reactions and has been shared 5,415 times. Netizens also posted mixed reactions on Robie’s post.
Pia’s side is yet to issue a statement on the allegation inaccurate portrayal of her late father.
