Filipino nurse claims half of Php1.18B 6/58 Ultra Lotto jackpot

The other winner of the Php1.18 billion Ultra Lotto jackpot has claimed his winnings, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed on Tuesday, October 23.

From Albay, A 30-year-old male nurse went to the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City with his parents to claim his cheque amounting to Php427 million net of taxes, said PCSO Assistant General for Gaming Sector Arnel Cases, reported Inquirer.

The winner bought the winning ticket from a newly-opened mall in Legazpi City in Albay. He regularly bought lotto tickets in the hopes of hitting the jackpot someday.

Asked about what took him more than a week to claim the prize, the winner said he had to plan his travel carefully and had to assure his safety before going to Manila from Albay, according to PCSO.

A week ago, the other winner who came from Borlongan, Eastern Samar claimed his share of winnings.
