An Asian man was sentenced to six months in jail followed by immediate deportation after being convicted of raping a Filipina in Dubai.
According to the 33-year old Filipina, she received a message from the Asian man asking her for a barbecue and shisha night with friends in a desert in Dubai which she declined to, reported Gulf News.
The Filipina later on agreed to have coffee with the man but was surprised when the latter drove her to the desert where they spent the night with friends until 3 a.m.
When she asked to be brought home, the Asian man undressed and raped the Filipina.
The suspect denied the allegations before the Dubai Court of First Instance saying that the sexual encounter had the consent of the Filipina.
While the suspect was sentenced in favor of the Filipina, her civil lawsuit demanding Dh21,000 in “temporary compensation” was denied by the judge.
The suspect is set to appeal for his case before the Appeal Court later this month.
